I am first a follower of God. He is my life, my everything, and He has to work extra hard at refining me. He is the Ultimate Author and I love reading His story and hearing how He is working through others more than anything. No one can beat His plot twists and they continue to blow my mind every time I dive into The Word.

Second, I was raised by a storyteller in a storytelling family. If you don’t know what that’s like, it sounds like one person in the family starting a story and every other line someone else jumping in to correct it or perfect it. It’s a whole lot of fun and laughter. That’s what I try to bring in to my stories.

I have an amazing husband who balances me. Nate is the steady center to my flurry of activity. He’s the planner and I’m the doer. He’s the math to my words. I make him laugh and he makes me blush. I am the energy behind his thoughts. If you can’t tell I’m a little head over heels for him. You will find him weaved throughout every one of my strong male characters, but those little glimpses are just for me.

We have two boys who already show a penchant for story telling using sentences like ‘I’ll go pop on my shoes’. You will find chapter books all over our house with tissues stuffed in them to hold our places. We have been known to spend an entire day tucked in bed reading one of our favorites: Laura Ingalls Wilder. One day I’ll finish my children’s story but for now it’s the boys’ secret.
